ORIGINS: ‘We meet Cain living out his life exiled from his homeland. Afflicted by his memories and haunted by figures from the past, Cain must now retrace his steps back to Eden in pursuit of answers. Journey into the landscapes of both dream and psychosis and confront life's primeval questions of faith, death and immortality.’
KASPAR: ‘In 1828 and a strange boy calling himself ‘Kaspar Hauser’ appeared in a town square claiming to have been held prisoner in a darkened cell for 17 years. But who is he really? Conman? Orphan? Or an abducted prince caught in the middle of a political game?’

Charles was Movement Director on Our Tethered Kin which performed at The Everyman, Cork and premiered at The Abbey, Dublin in 2023.
Aeni and Abrafo are two children abandoned on the edge of the darkest of Woods. Our Tethered Kin tells their story in a world where the beast that guide the hand of man are seen on stage. It is a story of what happens when you reject these parts of yourself and what happens when you give them free reign. It is a story of two paths through the Dark Woods told through music, puppetry and movement.

Charles was part of the devising team and performed Megalith at Zoo Main House, Edinburgh Fest & IF Festival, Oxford 2022. Megalith has now been developed into an installation as well as a performance piece.
‘With copper having jet-fuelled technology for the last 10,000 years, a performer and sound artist playfully duet to deep-time techno, metamorphic soundscapes and the Internet of Things. Neolithic flint tools smash stones and laptops in this wildly physical journey to the origins – and 21st century challenges – of mining.’

BLUEBELLE: ‘Weaving together plots and characters from ancient folktales, Bluebelle reminds us that life is shaped by the stories we tell and leave behind. It unravels our desires, our weaknesses, and ultimately our strength and ability to care for those born after us.’
